Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity; hands-on learning and collaborative play.In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process.Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.
"Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I will learn." I totally encourage Montessori's techniques in teaching especially for younger learners. Since young learner's attention span is considered gradually short, they would learn best as they play and discover the world around them. Children, as well as adult learners, are creative, so why limit this creativity.
ReplyDeleteAs an English teacher, I truly find Montessori's ways and techniques very beneficial and essential for young learners. Children are very creative and such method gives this creativity an important role in grasping information and concepts.
